In an effort to highlight the vast cultural opportunities that Chicago has to offer to collectors, dealers, art enthusiasts and tourists, EXPO CHICAGO in conjunction with CHOOSE CHICAGO, the city’s tourism and marketing organization and Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), introduce EXPO ART WEEK, running from September 15-21. With EXPO CHICAGO as the centerpiece, the exposition will join together with over 45 of the city’s most prestigious cultural institutions for this citywide celebration of art and culture that will include museum exhibitions; gallery openings; installations; public art projects; music; theater and dance performances and special dining experiences. Art After Hours is a citywide open gallery night inviting EXPO CHICAGO visitors and the Chicago community to experience the city’s vibrant art scene, including alternative exhibition venues and performance spaces, Friday, September 19, 6:00-9:00 pm. Meant to showcase Chicago’s multifaceted creative community, Art After Hours aligns with evening openings around the city to kick-off the fall art season. Free shuttles will be running throughout the evening to ensure easy transportation between River North, the West Loop and the Wabash Arts Corridor gallery districts.
